Shakespeare in The Park 2013 - Redwood City

San Francisco Shakespeare Festival brings it's performance of "Macbeth: to downtown Redwood City this month! 

Shakespeare in the Park 2013 (website) Saturday, August 10, 17 & 24 • 7:30pm Sunday, August 11, 18 & 25 • 2:00pm Sequoia High School Campus (map) Celebrating its 31st year, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival brings its performance of “Macbeth” to Downtown Redwood City for 3 weekends in August! Kenneth Kelleher returns  to direct Macbeth. Generally regarded as one of the Bard’s major tragedies (along with Hamlet, Othello, and King Lear), this is the first time SF Shakes has produced it for Free Shakespeare in the Park. Macbeth is memorable for its suspenseful plot and thrilling scenes of witchcraft and swordplay. Audiences will recognize Macbeth’s famous soliloquies, including “Is this a dagger which I see before me?” and “Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow”, as well as the witches’ rhymes “Double double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble”, which have become an ingrained part of English-speaking culture. Shakespeare in the Park will offer 3 evening shows on Saturdays and 3 afternoon shows on Sundays while providing an opportunity for everyone to see high quality, professional theater in the relaxing setting of Sequoia Campus, free of charge. Free Shakespeare in the Park began in 1983, with its debut production of The Tempest in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. It is now one of the major free Shakespeare programs in the nation. Free Shakespeare in the Park provides an opportunity for everyone to see high quality, professional theater at no cost.

Review of the Clarke Team: The best decision I have made.

Review: This was my second time purchasing a home. Kelly and Judy made the transaction easy and smooth from beginning to end. We looked at homes with an open mind for sure and she gave me ideas along the way as to how to upgrade them. My budget was small and that meant not the best neighborhoods. She always researched the areas and made sure I new "There is a hospital and four way stop sign there. There are a lot of cars and apartments on this street" And when we found the gem she made sure It was the right choice. Comments like " There is a school 2 blocks away so we should drive by when it gets out to see how busy it is. There are nice well maintained homes and ample parking all around. It has been the best decision I have made to use the Clarke team in finding my Gem. Thank You.

Mountain Lion Killed. ~ Where are all our mountain lions? 2011 sightings map.

It was so sad to hear that they ended up having to shoot the mountain lion today. It doesn't seem right. It wasn't attacking anyone. It was just scared. Sigh. I can't understand how they couldn't tranquilize it, but were okay with shooting it. Poor thing. It had just as much right to be here as we do. Let's learn to live with them and avoid further needless deaths.

Mountain Lion SIghting in Redwood City This Morning!

Seems like everyone - even mountain lions - are out enjoying this beautiful Spring weather! We have some beautiful parks in the area that are great for hiking. Here's some tips in the event you are enjoying them and encounter a mountain lion.

What To Do If You Encounter a Mountain Lion

• STEP 1: Avoid hiking alone, especially between dusk and dawn, when lions are most active.
• STEP 2: Make a lot of noise when hiking so you won't surprise a lion.
• STEP 3: Keep children close when hiking in mountain lion country; most mountain lion attacks are made against children.
• STEP 4: Keep pets on leashes while hiking.
• STEP 5: Avoid approaching a mountain lion if you see one in the distance - it may just be curious about you. Most lions avoid confrontation, so give it an opportunity to slip away.
• STEP 6: Be prepared for a possible attack if a mountain lion is nearby, staring at you aggressively and crouching or hiding.
• STEP 7: Stay calm and don't run if you're faced with a possible attack. Take out any weapons or deterrents (such as pepper spray), or look around for rocks and sticks.
• STEP 8: Raise your hands or hold things above your head to make yourself appear larger. Pick children up off the ground, but don't crouch or bend over if you can help it.
• STEP 9: Talk or yell loudly and slowly back away, maintaining eye contact with the mountain lion.
• STEP 10: Fight back aggressively with weapons and deterrents if you're attacked, all the while trying to remain standing.
